BIOGRAPHY

Marija M. Marić is a Biological Engineer in Biochemistry with a specialization in Biological Sciences from Ss. Cyril & Methodius University in Skopje, North Macedonia.

With more than 30 years of experience across biochemical, biomedical, diagnostic, and commercial laboratory environments, she has extensive expertise in laboratory operations, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and international laboratory standards.

As the mother of a child with a rare genetic disorder, Marija spent nearly a decade navigating the diagnostic journey firsthand. This experience shaped her commitment to improving access to advanced diagnostics, specialist expertise, and evidence-based care for individuals with rare, genetic, and neurodevelopmental conditions.

A recognized advocate for rare disease and neurodevelopmental disorder awareness, Marija has contributed to numerous conferences, educational initiatives, and media appearances, locally, regionally, and internationally, including the co-organization of the SEECA Conference (2022) and the NeurAnova Conference (2026).

Marija is also the Founder of OMI Biomedics, NeurAnova's laboratory partner, through which she has supported patients and healthcare professionals in more than 40 countries. Over the years, she has established an extensive international network of laboratories, clinicians, researchers, and patient advocacy organizations.

At NeurAnova, she leads initiatives focused on connecting patients, families, healthcare professionals, and advanced diagnostic technologies to accelerate answers and improve outcomes, so patients and their families finally have the answers they need to secure the premium care that they had always deserved.
